Julie Neale

I began singing as a featured soloist with the Pat Boone Show “Come Together” which toured England extensively playing festivals, rallies and many prestigious venues including Coventry Cathedral (where we were joined by Billy Graham and his family). The De Montfort Hall and the Albert Hall.

I then joined forces with John Boone forming a Midlands based folk duo.We set up and ran The Grapevine Vineyard Folk Club in Coventry. When John went to work in Germany, I carried on performing solo on the Folk Music circuit. I then played in a duo with Pete Willow, well known and respected musician.

And then I joined my first band…..

For the next eight years I toured England and Wales with my husband Robert, playing Country and Western venues with Wrangler and my own band Phoenix, playing the Mean Fiddler in London, major US Air Force Bases and several successful UK tours.

We were also engaged as support band for the “Show Biz Eleven” featuring Jess.Conrad, Shel MacCrae (singer with the Fortunes), Chris Quinton (Coronation Street star) and popular actor/comedian Tony Selby.

I took a break from live performance during which time I successfully completed an HND in Small Scale Theatre, followed by an Honours Degree in Arts Practice and Cultural Policy.

Over the years, I have developed my own unique finger picking style and created many individual arrangements of existing songs as well as writing my own material.
